NOTICE OF YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS
At Edgebrook Bank, we recognize the sensitive nature of your personal financial information and take every precaution to protect your privacy. When you entrust us with your financial information, you can be certain it will be used only within our strict guidelines.
We have prepared this brochure to explain what types of information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we may share it. We, our, and us, when used in this notice, means all the members of Edgebrook Bank.
This is our privacy notice for our customers. When we use the words “you” and “your” we mean all of our customers who have or have had a relationship with us.
In this communication, we will inform you of the sources of nonpublic personal information we collect on our customers. We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information. We will also communicate what information we share with other entities. We will explain what your rights are, and how you can exercise them.
We hope you will read through all of the details of our official position on privacy. At the very least, however, we want you to know that we use information we know about you responsibly to provide you with the services you have requested, offer you other bank products and services, and alert you to financial service products made available by our carefully selected marketing partners.
This policy statement takes precedence over any previous privacy policies issued by us. We wish first to define some terms:
- Non-public personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Non-public personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.
- An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.
- A non-affiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of ours.
WHAT KINDS OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you on applications or other forms, information about your transactions with us, information about your transactions with non-affiliated third parties, and information from consumer reporting agencies.
HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION
Most of the information we collect is used for only one purpose, to help us deliver the services that you have requested easily and efficiently. It may also permit us to design and offer specific products and services that we believe will be useful to you.
THE CONFIDENTIALITY, SECURITY AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR NON-PUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION
We restrict access to non-public personal information about you to those employees that need to know the information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non-public personal information.
NON-PUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION AND NON-AFFILIATED THIRD PARTIES
We may disclose non-public personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law. This may include financial service providers (such as insurance agents), among others.
We may also disclose the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income:
- Information about your transaction with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, and credit card usage, and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
These third parties include:
- Services providers who assist us in managing your relationship with us such as check printers, data processing companies, companies that prepare our account statements, or companies that helps us market our products to you:
- Companies with whom we have a joint marketing agreement to provide you with financial services that we do not offer ourselves, but we believe may be of interest to you. For example, we may share information with financial service providers that offer credit cards, insurance products, annuities, stock or mutual funds:
- Other parties as permitted or required by applicable law. These include government agencies in response to subpoenas and other legal processes, consumer reporting agencies, or those with whom you have authorized us to share your information.
These companies are legally obligated to keep information we provide them confidential and are restricted from using this information for any reason beyond the performance of the specified service on our behalf or as specified in our joint marketing agreement. Please be advised that under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, you do not have the right to opt out from the sharing of information with third party service providers and joint marketers.
NON-PUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION AND AFFILIATES
The Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws allow us to share specific details with our affiliates about your transactions and experiences with us, including information about your account balances or payment history. Our affiliates will not use this information to Market Products and Services to you.
NON- PUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION AFTER YOU TERMINATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH US.
Although we generally do not solicit customers who have closed their accounts with us, we may share their information with Edgebrook Bank affiliates and non-affiliated third parties as described above. We may also disclose non-public personal information about former customers, except as prohibited by law.
